Here is some basic information

Here is the basic concept of D&D. I have separated it into steps. Lets start with step 1.
Step 1: Create a Character
First one must make a character. One could do this (this is how I do it) by rolling 4 6-sided dice, dropping the lowest one, then adding up the remaining dice and writing it down. Do this 6 times. These are your stats, which you must distribute to 6 stats. These stats are Strength (Fighters), Dexterity (Thieves), Constitution (Rangers), Wisdom (Clerics), Intelligence (Wizards), and Charisma (Druids, Paladins, and Bards). Next to each stat I have told the class which the stat is most important to. Now that you have placed these stats, you should get a class. Read up on classes here. Then come back, place the class next to your character name and continue to the next step.

Step 2: The point of D&D
Now that you have a character, you will adventure. This requires dice, ALL THE BOOKS (GO BUY THEM IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM ALREADY), and of course, a DM who knows more about D&D then you do. Once you have these, you DM will make a quest. He will tell you how the world around you interacts with your desicions, and in times of war, he will roll the dice for the enemies. That I feel is all I should tell you. If you want to know more, get your ass in gear and buy the books.
